Three Case Studies

1) Social Media Outreach for Health Coverage Renewals

Goal: Stress the importance of Medi-Cal renewals and drive targeted traffic through strategic social media posts and promotion.

Results: Achieved a significant reach with a high frequency of exposure, effectively connecting with the target audience.

  • Ran a short 1-month awareness campaign with a modest budget under $500 targeting individuals in Sacramento County.

    • Despite a limited budget, our post reached more than 50,000 individuals and generated over 675,000 impressions.

      • This means that on average, each individual reached was exposed to our Medi-Cal message more than 12 times, leading to increased chances of message retention and brand recall due to repetition.

  • Created and oversaw content for various social media platforms to spread awareness about the significance of the Medi-Cal redetermination process and where to receive free assistance.

2) Social Media Promotion for Transformative Health Events in the Nonprofit Sector

Goal: Boost event attendance and awareness of free health and social services.

Results: Consistently attracted over 1,000 local attendees annually, with strong social media growth, engagement, and increase in followers.

  • Amplified reach across all social media platforms. During 2022’s event promotion on social media:

    • Our Facebook's impressions and post engagements significantly increased, with a 50% surge and 84% rise, respectively.

    • Our Instagram 84% growth in impressions.

    • Our Twitter 35% increase in impressions.

    • Our LinkedIn 54% rise in impressions.

    • Our TikTok over 124,000 views.

  • Connected with event sponsors, community partners and other industry influencers to share awareness on their social media platforms.

  • Created tailored content for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, comprising photo carousels, videos, and themed Stories.

3) Social Media Impact for COVID-19 Education and Prevention

Goal: Promote education and preventative measures, drive awareness, and disseminate accurate and timely information to the public.

Results: Generated a substantial digital footprint for the nonprofit organization through a multi-platform strategy that proved successful in maximizing reach and visibility.

  • In the challenging context of a global pandemic, I created and managed COVID-19 related posts and paid ads to boost awareness.

  • Managed comments and questions directly through Facebook about concerns and where to get resources during the pandemic.

  • Collaborated with state and local initiatives, as well as other community-based organizations to spread messages and dispel myths.

  • Ran a 2-week ad campaign through Meta to generate leads and boost engagement to a statewide vaccination landing page.

    • Results: Generated over 119,000 impressions and reached more than 36,000 people in the Sacramento area. In measuring engagement against reach, our engagement rate soared at 4.7% (falling in the standard between 1-5%, according to Hootsuite).

    • This shows that a meaningful proportion of those who were exposed to our message was compelled to engage directly by clicking our links and completing a lead form.
